Hendricks Named New Executive Director of DACVB
The Decatur Area Convention and Visitors Board of Directors has announced a new executive director. Decatur’s Jeff Hendricks will take over the position when the current executive director, Denene Wilmeth retires at the first of May. Jack Kenny, Park Board Commissioner and acting chairman of the Bureau’s search committee said the board was pleased with the applications they received for the position, but after interviewing 6 candidates. . felt that Hendricks was the most qualified for the job. Hendricks has worked in public relations and more recently as the President and COO of Jones and Thomas Marketing and Communications. He is currently a partner in Hendricks and Carr, LLC Marketing and Publishing. Wilmeth said she is pleased with the decision and believes that Hendricks will make this a seamless transition for the Bureau.
