St. Mary’s Hospital is being honored as one of the nation’s best hospitals by a major national publication.  U.S. News and World Report has announced its list of 247 of the nation’s Best Regional Hospitals, and St Mary’s is one of four in East Central Illinois to make the cut. 

“Given that there were only 247 recipients for 2011-2012, this award is a tremendous honor for all of us and it is a reflection on the hard work of our St. Mary’s colleagues,” said Kevin F. Kast, President and CEO of St. Mary’s. “Receiving this award, in combination with the opening of new lobby, emergency room and clinical lab, as well as our upcoming construction of new clinic space for the Prairie Heart Institute, underscores our commitment to provide exceptional health care for the citizens of Decatur and Macon County.”
