Kirk Serious But Stable; "Doing Quite Well"

Senator Mark Kirk continues to show improvement in his stroke recovery and doctor’s say he is “doing quite well”.  The Illinois Senator underwent another surgery yesterday to alleviate brain swelling and remove brain tissue damaged from his stroke this past weekend.  Kirk’s neurosurgeon, Doctor Richard Fessler says Senator Kirk is in serious but stable condition, and indicated that the swelling has stabilized after the surgery.  Kirk is expected to make a full mental recovery, but likely may have movement problems on his left side, even after rehabilitation.
